Description

Johannes Wagner (son of Heinrich Wagner and Adelheid Pfanmöller) was born on 8 Oct 1736 in Wehrda. Anna Margaretha “Eva” Hämelmann (daughter of Daniel Hämelmann and Elisabeth Sippel) was born on 31 Dec 1740 in Wehrda (she is the half-sister of the wife of Valentin Melcher, see Melcher entry). They married in 1761 in Wehrda. They had one child, Johannes, born 13 Aug 1763, prior to departing for Russia. They arrived in Russia on 14 Sep 1766, along with Johannes’ sister Anna Eva (born 7 Sep 1749 in Werda). The family settled in Walter in 1767 and is reported on the First Settler's List, Family #31. According to the Werda family registers, Johannes’s sisters Anna Catherina and Anna Margaretha also went to Russia, though they have not yet been identified in records in Russia.
