History
      The village of Protestante in the Province of Entre Rios was founded on 21 July 1878 on the banks of the Arroyo Ensenada, about 3 kilometers west of its current location. Because of flooding, it was moved to its current location along the banks of the Arroyo Perdices (Partridge Creek) in October of that year.

      On 1 April 1880, the first group of colonists from Colonía Convert in Santa Fe Province resettled to Protestante because of repeated flooding there.
